Wildlife Control & Pest Control Technician

Creature Control is looking to hire a new wildlife control technician. Our technicians perform pest and wildlife control services to a variety of residential, commercial and municipal customers. We are very particular in who we take on for this important job.

The Ideal candidate will:

  • Live in or near our service area.
  • Be looking for something long-term and willing to build a relationship with the company. We are looking for a career-oriented individual, not someone that will need to be replaced in a year or two.
  • Have good personal hygiene, be personable, and have decent verbal and writing skills. Candidate must be capable of passing State of Michigan tests to qualify for the Core and 7A pesticide licensing.
  • Have access to adequate outdoor storage for work equipment.
  • Outdoor enthusiast types are preferred; enthusiasm for hunting, fishing, trapping is a major benefit. Any trapping experience is a plus. Obviously, candidate must not be squeamish about working with animals and insects.
  • The ideal candidate will be agile, physically fit and capable of maintaining moderate levels of physical activity throughout the day, including moving extension ladders regularly. Candidate must not be afraid of heights; willingness to work on rooftops is a must.
  • The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and good working with tools. Building experience or experience with construction materials is a bonus.

Restoration Crew

Members of Creature Control’s restoration crew remediate and restore areas of houses that have been damaged by wildlife activity. Work is primarily carried out in attics, crawlspaces, and basements. Work involves cleaning up, bagging, and disposing of materials damaged by wildlife. Restoration crew members also remove and replace insulation, use disinfectants and paints, and perform some light carpentry. Personal protective equipment and work uniforms provided. Pay is hourly with raises and promotions merit based.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be able to sustain moderate levels of physical activity throughout the day
  • Be punctual, have attention to detail, and good hygiene and cleaning practices
  • Be comfortable working with heights and enclosed spaces (such as attics and crawlspaces)
  • Understand that work will occasionally require travel and overnight stays; expenses all covered by the company
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Have some competency with basic tools

Office Staff

Creature Control office staff work at our company headquarters in Gregory, Michigan. An office employee is responsible for answering phones, selling Creature Control’s services over the phone, fielding customer inquiries, scheduling appointments, and other clerical tasks. Pay is hourly plus a commission based on sales rate, as well as compensation for various other projects.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be looking for something long-term and willing to build a relationship with the company. We are looking for a career-oriented individual, not someone that will need to be replaced in a year or two.
  • Have good personal hygiene, be personable, and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High school diploma or GED required. College-level education of some kind, a major plus.
  • Be willing and able to study, learn, and retain information about animal and insect biology and behavior, as well as Creature Control's services.
  • Be comfortable talking on the phone with customers, explaining and selling Creature Control’s services over the phone.
  • Have a positive attitude about customer service.
